Call for film makers/ video artists/ artists/ anyone with a camera* to take part in a collective film project to coincide with Hanoi’s 1000 years’ celebration in October 2010.

The project aims to collect (up to) 1000 x 1 minute films shot on HD, DV, mobile phones, digital stills cameras, super 8 (converted DV), etc. by people from Hanoi. These 1000 short films will tell the story of the city, its people and creative community in the months leading to the 1000th anniversary celebrations.

Format preferred is 16: 9 (any other format will converted into 16:9), colour or/and B&W, with sound**.
Genre***: documentary, experimental, fiction, etc. with a strong visual content.
Films MUST be shot in HANOI.
The films will be screened in Hanoi in October.
The films will remain © of their makers.

The project is led by French/British photographer/film maker/visual artist Magali Moreau currently based in Hanoi.

Please join the group on the New Hanoian/hanoi1000filmproject or register your interest with Magali at:
mmfilms@googlemail.com
by sending a short bio (50 words max), a brief description of your intended project, an email and phone contact. Participants are requested to contribute no less than 5 films and no more than 50. Some technical help will be provided if necessary but participants should be largely self-sufficient.
I am hoping to set up a meeting in the next few weeks for a first screening.

Looking forward to working with you all.
